Esther Hall born in 1970 in Manchester is an English actress who has acted in many television dramas. She was brought up in Cheshire and studied A levels in Manchester before moving to the arts field. She got trained in classical ballet for five years at Bretton Hall College, which is a part of University of Leeds and also gained a degree in Bachelor of Arts.
Esther Hall gradually developed an interest in acting and went on to appear in many TV series like Peak Practice, Police 2020, Into Thin Air: Death on Everest, The Land Girls, Bomber and Clocking Off. Although she has been a regular face in television, she became popular after playing the role of Romey Sullivan in the TV series Queer as Folk (1999-2000). This series broadcast on UK TV was directed by Sarah Harding and Charles McDougall, in which Esther Hall played a challenging role as a lesbian.
Esther Hall has acted in TV series like Playing The Field, Men Only, Fat Friends, Silent Witness, McCready and Daughter and Serious and Organised. She was also a part of Always & Everyone, a medical drama, in which she co-starred with Martin Shaw, an English actor. She played the role Clara Dawes in the TV drama, Sons and Lovers (2003), which was based on the autobiography of D.H. Lawrence, who is an English author, poet, playwright, essayist and literary critic. In 2002, Esther Hall got a chance to act in Spooks, the award-winning British drama series aired on BBC One. She portrayed Ellie Simm, who is the girl friend of the main character Tom Quinn, but remained in the serial for a short span of time. In the series, she is unaware of the fact that her boy friend is an MI5 agent, when she comes to know she ends her relationship for the safety of her daughter and her own life.
In 2005, Esther Hall replaced an English television actress in the British television crime drama series, Waking the Dead aired on BBC. She played main role Felix Gibson who is a resident team pathologist. The same year saw Esther Hall exhibiting her talent in the historical drama television series, Rome (2005-2007) and portrayed the character named, Lyde.
In 2006, Esther Hall went on to act as Carly Baker in “One Guilty Deed”, a TV episode of The Inspector Lynley Mysteries. Her performance as Alice Tyler in True Dare Kiss, a British TV serial produced by BBC One was well received by her fans.
